Biosensors has developed technology to address each component of a drug-eluting stent system, including a stent, a stent delivery catheter, a biodegradable polymer and a proprietary anti-restenosis drug. The company is pursuing three separate drug-eluting stent programmes, BioMatrix, Axxion, and BioMatrix Freedom, a polymer-free drug-eluting stent.
Biosensors International Group’s BioMatrix drug-eluting stent system has received CE Mark approval enabling commercialisation of the product in the European Union and the countries in Asia and Latin America that recognise the CE Mark.
