Agreement enables INPS to supply individual health record systems for use in GP practices under the Welsh NHS
Informing Healthcare is pleased to announce an agreement with GP system supplier INPS (In-Practice Systems), as part of its strategic approach to deliver an Individual Health Record for NHS Wales.
The Individual Health Record is the system that will enable emergency and out-of-hours doctors to have access to important patient information to help with diagnosis and treatment.
This is the first such agreement to be reached and discussions are also well underway with the other GP systems suppliers in Wales.
Implementation planning with a number of GP practices that use the In-Practice GP system will begin in October 2009, and will lead the way for a phased roll out of the Individual Health Record across Wales.
The early adopters will use software from their GP system supplier, which incorporates a new standard model for data extraction from GP systems in Wales.
