Professor Mike Pringle, RCGP Medial Director of Revalidation, records a video podcast for the RCGP’s website that explains the recent changes and decisions made regarding the revalidation of GPs.
The podcast has been recorded to support Version 3 of the RCGP Guide to the Revalidation of General Practitioners which is now available at www.rcgp.org.uk/revalidation.
In the film, which is in two parts and lasts around six minutes, Professor Pringle covers the changes made to the guide and explains the reasons why they were made. He also gives an update on recent work carried out with the BMA on remediation.
Commenting on revalidation, Professor Steve Field, RCGP Chairman, said: 'We must get into the mindset of seeing revalidation as professional development, making sure that revalidation uses existing systems and that it is not onerous for GPs'.
Professor Pringle's film is one of a series of short films being released occasionally by the RCGP to help keep GPs and stakeholders up to date on revalidation proposals. The series is introduced by a film from RCGP Chairman, Professor Steve Field.
