3-D Virtual Clinic spotlights Elekta’s radiotherapy solutions for cancer treatment

Elekta has developed a 3-D Virtual Clinic to enable radiation therapists, administrators, patients and investors an opportunity to acquaint themselves with Elekta’s products and how they are interconnected.
The Elekta Virtual Clinic was initially designed as an Elekta internal training aid but is now making the platform available for general view.
The clinic is available online and allows the user to follow the course of treatment for a patient undergoing lung treatment, from initial consultation, treatment planning, radiation treatment all the way through to completion in the Mosaiq patient management system.
Alternatively, it is possible to ‘fly over’ and zoom in to find out more about specific treatment tools, such as Elekta Synergy and Leksell Gamma Knife. Also available are an auditorium which allows the viewer to view movies and a library which contains case-studies and treatment protocol papers.
To further assist navigation and provide a 'friendlier' environment, voice over commentary guides users through various parts of the clinic, explaining for example the benefits of the Mosaiq Electronic Medical Record. Further functionality and content including a focus on Elekta VMAT are planned and will be incorporated in a future release of the Elekta Virtual Clinic.
