One of the largest non-profit group purchasing organizations (GPO) in the USA, MAGNET Cooperative, signs a sole source agreement with Elekta, enabling its members to begin purchasing Elekta's oncology delivery systems.
Under the agreement, MAGNET will offer its members Elekta's clinical solutions for cancer patient care, including:- Elekta Synergy, an advanced digital linear accelerator that integrates a suite of imaging tools to enable high-quality, 2D, 3D, and 4D imaging at the time of treatment. - Elekta Synergy S, an image-guided robotic linear accelerator that enables clinicians to perform both stereotactic Radiosurgery and stereotactic radiotherapy. - Elekta Axesse, a head-to-toe stereotactic treatment management system for neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists with integrated image guidance and robotic tools, immobilization devices, and advanced workflow tools. - Elekta Infinity, a new advanced radiation therapy system for cancer treatments. Elekta Infinity incorporates Elekta VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy), an innovative technique for delivering radiation treatments in significantly shorter treatment times while providing more precise control of the radiation dose to maximise safety to nearby normal tissues. 'MAGNET and its Member Organizations are pleased to have the opportunity to work with a partner like Elekta to provide better patient care, while also reducing costs,' said Steven Duke, Vice President of MAGNET. 'At a time when healthcare facilities are receiving pressure to remain competitive, Elekta offers comprehensive, yet flexible oncology solutions that concentrate upon and respect each centre's individual needs.' The MAGNET agreement continues Elekta's strong relationship within the GPO market space, as majority of the top 10 healthcare group purchasing organizations in the USA now have provider agreements with Elekta. |
