Yorkshire Forward, has established the Innovator 08 Awards together with key regional and national supporters, to celebrate the talent of organisations and individuals who are driving innovation.The prestigious awards ceremony celebrated the innovation and creativity that is prevalent in businesses and universities. Brandon Medical won two Innovation awards - celebrating the pioneering achievements of the company’s latest products and the success of its collaborations with key technology partners. Brandon Medical won the ‘Technology Innovation Award’ that acknowledged the development of the company’s High-Definition LED lighting technique. Brandon Medical’s investment in R & D allows the company to stay at the top of the field in terms of the latest technology, whether it is its pioneering Medical AV products or its breakthrough HD-LED technology for Medical Lighting. HD-LED is a brand new breakthrough technology with substantially better performance than standard LED, offering near perfect colour rendition and reducing energy consumption by two-thirds over conventional lights. Brandon Medical has applied HD-LED technology to new ranges of operating lights and minor surgical lamps, making them improved and better performing than any existing lighting products on the market. The Second award for ‘Collaborative Innovation’ celebrated the achievements of Brandon Medical’s work with world-class technology partners that have resulted in the development of pioneering and innovative products. The success of the collaborations is based on connecting end-user requirements with technical expertise to provide breakthrough technologies and integrated solutions. Symposia is one such product that has resulted from Brandon Medical’s collaboration with its experienced technology partners. Symposia – an integrated digital media package for healthcare, is one of Brandon’s most innovative products. Symposia’s VAIPOR is a methodology that uses Internet Protocol to integrate and transfer video and audio over a hospital’s existing communications network. The system revolutionises the way hospitals record and transmit all types of procedures and has a significant impact on clinical training and development.
