NHS Commercial Solutions (NHSCS) Framework appoints Asteral to supply Managed Equipment Services (MES), Managed Maintenance Services (MMS) and professional services (planning). |
|
The NHSCS Framework, which went live on 13th February 2012 for a four-year period, is available to all NHS bodies as a simple, quick, secure and low cost route for procurement. Asteral’s appointment to the Framework reflects the growing popularity of managed services in the marketplace, as an increasing number of Trusts turn to these flexible and cost-effective solutions to meet clinical and financial requirements.
Asteral's range of services delivers tailor made solutions for hospitals, driving efficiency savings and improving patient care. Its team of clinical, financial and technical experts works closely with hospitals to maximise existing equipment and deliver new technology, without requiring any upfront investment. Asteral can also significantly reduce costs for a Trust via its maintenance service, which consolidates all existing maintenance contracts into a single arrangement, removing the complexity of legacy processes and providing a single point of contact.
Asteral and the four other providers to NHSCS completed an Official Journal of the European Union (OEJU) tender, enabling Trusts to avoid some of the often time consuming and complex processes associated with procurement. NHSCS also provides professional, commercial and strategic advice to help customers choose the best product and partner from the Framework.
Christopher Langley, Asteral Chief Executive Officer said: "This is a fantastic opportunity and we're really pleased to be working in partnership with NHSCS. "This appointment not only recognises the quality of services that we provide but will help many more Trusts access them, easily and quickly, whilst retaining the benefits of a competitive tender process."
Phil Spicer, Associate Procurement Director at NHSCS said: "It's great to be able to offer these market-leading services to Trusts. We've worked hard to ensure that we have the best suppliers and processes in place so that our customers don't have to. Working closely with Trusts, we provide expert information and advice to ensure a hassle-free means of procuring the most effective solution." |
