Dorset County Hospital uses direct-digital radiography to improve A&E service

Xograph Healthcare : 22 August, 2007  (New Product)
Xograph Healthcare has installed a buckyStar DR System, incorporating three Canon DR detectors, into Dorset County Hospital.
The system is being used for trauma imaging in the hospital's Accident & Emergency Department.

The buckyStar DR is a well-proven Digital Radiography General X-ray system that incorporates state-of-the-art fixed and lightweight portable detectors from Canon. The unit delivered to Dorset County Hospital incorporates three single-tile detectors: one fixed 43x43cm, one portable 35x43cm and one portable 23x29cm detector.

The buckyStar DR was selected due to its versatility, ease of use and unique range of both fixed and portable DR detectors that can be used in any combination within a room. The unit enables table, wall stand and trolley direct digital radiography to be performed with the minimum of manual handling. The versatile imaging functionality is especially important in trauma cases requiring adaptation of technique, especially with patients that cannot be moved on to an X-ray table.

Speaking on the installation, Nick Nicklin, deputy principal superintendent radiographer at Dorset County Hospital stated, 'The installation of Xograph's buckyStar DR General X-ray solution has greatly improved the service that we provide to A&E. Image quality is excellent, workflow has been significantly improved and image access is rapid.'
