Vernacare is encouraging hospitals to go back-to-basics by promoting best practice in hygiene with the company’s educational posters and support services, available free of charge to nursing and infection prevention teams who have adopted the Vernacare system. |

Among the most popular resources are the colourful posters demonstrating best practice in cleaning and maintaining the Vernachair, which is currently used by more than 600 hospitals as a three-in-one commode, shower and sani chair.
“In the quest for better standards of hospital hygiene, it is absolutely vital that commode chairs are thoroughly cleaned each time they are used,” said Chris Socratous, Product Manager for Vernacare. “The Vernachair can be quickly and easily dismantled for easy cleaning, and our back-to-basics poster contains easy-to-follow pictures and instructions, giving a step-by-step guide to cleaning best practice.”
In addition, Vernacare’s nationwide sales support team provides a complimentary Vernachair audit service to ensure that effective cleaning is taking place and that hospitals are able to meet the rigorous requirements of Care Quality Commission inspections.
The modular structure of the Vernachair means that hospitals can replace any worn parts, avoiding the cost of replacing the entire chair, and thus helping to stretch healthcare budgets. All spare parts are readily available from Vernacare’s UK distribution centre.
“Vernacare has been delivering effective Infection control solutions across the healthcare sector for almost 50 years, with a steady pipeline of new innovative products and dedicated field-based support teams” added Socratous “We are strongly committed to partnering with healthcare practitioners to drive up standards of hygiene, and we have a nationwide sales team helping to support Infection control teams across the UK.” |
