Initiate Systems introduces new Advanced EMPI software for patient management

Initiate Systems : 22 October, 2007  (New Product)
Initiate Systems has introduced Initiate Patient an advancement of the company’s Initiate Identity Hub software.

Initiate Patient implements the innovative Initiate Master Data Service version 8.0, a comprehensive master data management (MDM) platform that delivers single, trusted and complete versions of critical data in real time to the people, processes and applications that rely on them.

“Today’s information technology enables better access to data in healthcare organizations,” said Scott Harper, SVP and general manager, Healthcare Practice for Initiate Systems. “But at the same time, the data remains fragmented across hospitals, clinics, labs and other organizations. This makes forming an accurate view of patient data very difficult. Initiate Patient, the next generation of Initiate’s high performing enterprise master person index, or EMPI technology, allows healthcare organizations to gain a more complete understanding of patients, helping to enable improved quality of care and Patient safety without compromising privacy.”

Initiate Patient is an MDM software application for healthcare enterprises used by integrated delivery networks, regional health organizations, labs, independent physician networks and other healthcare organizations. It helps deliver a comprehensive, single view of patients to registration staff, clinicians and other end-users, as well as clinical software applications.

Initiate Patient aids jurisdictions such as provinces and healthcare authorities at all levels in delivering safe, responsive patient care while increasing productivity and cost effectiveness.

Chronic disease accounts for 60 percent of deaths worldwide and is best managed by a team of healthcare providers. The team includes case managers, physicians, nurses and the patient. Initiate Patient enables these teams to share a single, accurate view of a chronic-disease patient so that they can develop a patient-specific, joint-care plan to minimise the number of visits and procedures, enable medication management and more effectively use healthcare resources.

“By providing this comprehensive view, Initiate Patient can help healthcare providers and organizations more effectively manage chronic disease, reduce threats to patient safety, increase patient and staff satisfaction, lower administrative costs and generally operate more effectively and efficiently,” Harper said.

Initiate Patient will be showcased at the World of Health IT Conference and Exposition, October 22-25, 2007 in Vienna, Austria.
