Abbott reveals recipients of the Labs Are Vital instrument donation programme

Abbott has announced the recipients of the Labs Are Vital instrument donation programme at the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Annual Meeting.
Recipients of the donation were Northern Michigan University, Marquette Michigan.; University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Nevada.; University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont., Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas, Reading Area Community College, Reading, Pennsylvania., Southeastern Community College, Whiteville, North Carolina; and Western Technical College, LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Donated instruments included Abbott's AxSYM automated immunoassay analyser, CELL-DYN haematology instruments and the i-STAT hand-held point-of-care system.

To date, Abbott has donated more than $3 million in instruments, reagents and service to accredited clinical laboratory education programmes across the country. Fifty educational programmes, impacting 3,000 students in 29 states within the USA, received state-of-the-art equipment including immunoassay analysers, haematology systems, and handheld point-of-care diagnostic instruments.
