Accton works with 4HomeMedia to provide remote monitoring solution for elderly patients

Accton Technology : 08 January, 2008  (New Product)
Accton Technology is to manufacture the Home HealthPoint 1500 system developed in conjunction with 4HomeMedia.
The Home HealthPoint 1500 enables the independent living (IL) for senior citizens via remote monitoring from their caregivers. Providing the carrier-grade managed broadband CPEs to enable the home care applications proves that Accton has migrated to the next level of broadband hardware CPE market.

'Accton is very happy to have the opportunity to work with 4HomeMedia for this project,' said Samuel Chang, senior ODM sales and marketing vice president of Accton, 'It proves that Accton, as a global premier provider for networking and communication solutions for top tier companies, provides the intelligent carrier-grade CPEs as well as the carrier access switches..'

The innovative solution consists of ControlPoint software running in a Home HealthPoint gateway with various sensors in the house and a multi-party portal user-interface (UI) generated from the backend hosted Portal Server. The Portal Server delivers three unique and customised user experiences based on the same data generated within the house - for the senior citizen at home, for remote family members or caregivers, and for remote medical or nursing facilities.

The 4HM-powered IL service will be available in the second half of 2008 through a variety of broadband service providers, both in North America and internationally.
