Amicas signs up 15 new radiology workflow contracts

Amicas : 22 October, 2007  (New Product)
Amicas has signed 15 new contracts in the third quarter of 2007 with one of the new customers being California Imaging & Diagnostic (CID), of Hemet, California, USA, which has signed a contract with Amicas for the company’s Vision Series PACS, Vision Series RIS, Vision Reach and Vision Series Document Management.
CID, a division of KM Strategic Management, does approximately 60,000 annual exams, including MRI, CT, CR/DR, ultrasound, DEXA, and PET/CT across multiple imaging centres.

'Critical to our decision to choose Amicas is their ability to integrate seamlessly with our NextGen EMR. We were searching for a vendor that is truly focused on integration and AMICAS distinguished itself in this regard. Amicas has a well established commitment to - and a defined corporate focus on - integrating with EMRs to provide world-class radiology functionality,' said Kevin Foutz, director of operations at CID.

'The market is continuing to respond to Amicas' solutions for automating radiology workflow,' said Paul Merrild, vice president of marketing at Amicas. 'Our singular focus on solving the most challenging problems in radiology IT is clearly resonating with CID and our other new customers.'

The 15 new contracts from Q3 2007 establish partnerships with a variety of hospitals, imaging centers, teleradiology businesses, and radiology groups. Several of these customers have signed multi-product contracts, which reinforce Amicas ' presence in the market as a provider of complete end-to-end solutions for automating radiology workflow. Amicas also signed its first RadStream contract in Q3 2007 with St Mary's Health Care System of Athens, Georgia, USA.

Amicas' latest innovations include Vision Series Financials, Vision Reach, and RadStream. Vision Series Financials, Amicas' new Windows-based Practice management software, is a next generation radiology management and billing software system.

Vision Reach, which is a zero-client solution focused specifically on referring physicians, uses the latest web-based technologies to integrate the radiology report with key images to create a single 'multi-media' report. RadStream makes possible the automation and documentation of critical results communication and the prioritisation of imaging exams based on a 'most likely to interrupt' method.

'We look forward to our partnerships with CID and our other new customers,' said Stephen Kahane, chairman and CEO of Amicas. 'Our focus is on developing the best solutions for automating radiology workflow - and our commitment to staying very close to our customers and to investing in R&D will ensure a rich product pipeline and strong radiology automation solutions.'
