Automatic high-content image analysis software simplifies biomedical cell research

Carl Zeiss MicroImaging : 04 July, 2008  (New Product)
AxioVision ASSAYbuilder software from Carl Zeiss enables researchers to fully automate analysis of their captured images to obtain biomedically relevant information without having to devote time to the basics of image analysis.
Detailed work instructions and an easy-to-operate user interface are just some of the key features that make automatic image analysis fully achievable- with minimal experience necessary.

ASSAYbuilder provides the ability to examine physiological and morphological dynamics within cells, between cells or in small organisms. The software enables the characterization of cell cultures, the identification of new targets for the development of future medications, and the identification of lead substances in small- or medium-scale screens. Possible applications and analyses include: cytotoxicity, cell motility, fluorescent protein expression, GPCR signal pathways, apoptosis, cell cycle, differentiation, proliferation, and much more.

The software module is compatible with almost any Carl Zeiss Microscopy system and can be used for the analysis of fluorescence images obtained with inverted or upright Zeiss imaging systems (including LSM) and stereomicroscopes.

ASSAYbuilder has been integrated with other AxioVision software modules. Automated hardware (LED light source, motorised stage) permits the setup of a high-speed screening station that can also be utilized as a live cell observation system with incubation components.

Cytological and biochemical laboratories can use ASSAYbuilder to easily design experiments centred around image-based protocols for both small scale or high content applications. Images and data remain interactively linked to each other even after images have been captured and data has been generated. The data can be graphically displayed and/or exported in a variety ways.
