Boehringer Ingelheim selects Sparta’s Trackwise to streamline global clinical QA tasks

Sparta Systems : 09 June, 2008  (Application Story)
Boehringer Ingelheim has selected Sparta Systems to further enhance the planning and reporting functions of its system, product and process audits in the field of Clinical Quality Assurance Operations.
The company also plans to use Sparta’s TrackWise to track necessary corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) across its various clinical divisions. Prior to Sparta, Boehringer Ingelheim was using standard Microsoft Word files to support these functions.

“We selected TrackWise to streamline the quality practices of our global Clinical Quality Assurance operations because we have already experienced just how effective the enterprise quality and Compliance software can be in improving overall quality,” said Dr Gerd Reichert, head of corporate clinical quality assurance, Boehringer Ingelheim.

Boehringer Ingelheim’s Clinical Quality Assurance practice is organized globally across the sites Germany, the USA, the United Kingdom, and Asia. TrackWise will support the global, integrated clinical quality assurance system that will streamline the company’s operations across all locations. TrackWise will help to improve Boehringer Ingelheim maintaining oversight of all planned and conducted clinical quality audits including tracking of findings and CAPAs. The process is currently managed manually.

“Boehringer Ingelheim is an existing client of ours, and their decision to further invest in our TrackWise solution is a testament to their satisfaction with Sparta and their own deep global commitment to quality assurance excellence,” said Sahaf Flam, managing director, Sparta Systems Europe. “We are truly honoured to be able to contribute to the quality of its overall clinical operations. We understand how imperative it is in today’s highly regulated clinical trial industry to maintain high-integrity quality trial data to ensure Patient safety and drug efficacy.”

The company plans to implement TrackWise by the end of 2008.
