Brandon Medical’s Symposia receives Medilink UK’s National Innovation Award

Brandon Medical : 18 February, 2008  (New Product)
Brandon Medical won the Innovation Award at the Medilink UK National Technology Awards for Symposia, an integrated digital media healthcare package.
The Awards event, held at the Medtec conference in Birmingham, UK, celebrated the pioneering achievements of Brandon’s Symposia VAIPOR, which is a methodology that uses Internet Protocol to integrate and transfer video and audio over a hospital’s existing communications network. The system revolutionises the way hospitals record and transmit all types of procedures and has a significant impact on clinical training and development.

Brandon Medical’s latest installation of Symposia is at Leeds Oncology Hospital and integrates microscopy, videoconferencing, document visualisers, patient records and surgical video. VAIPOR IP links the Oncology Hospital to the Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospital.

Brandon was automatically short-listed for the Medilink UK awards after the company picked up the Overall winner and Innovation awards at the regional Medilink Yorkshire & Humberside Innovation Day and Healthcare Business Awards 2007.

Graeme Hall, managing director of Brandon Medical, said “It is fantastic to have our achievements in innovation recognised not only at a regional level but also in a national competition such as the Medilink UK awards. It is a great pleasure to see our investments in design and technology paying off in the form of brilliant new products.”
