C5 Medical Werks begins production of ceramic injection moulded components at Colorado facility

C5 Medical Werks : 10 October, 2008  (Company News)
C5 Medical Werks, a subsidiary of the largest manufacturer of technical ceramics in North America, is now able to produce ceramic injection moulded (CIM) components from its state-of-the-art facility in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA.
The company's increased capacity meets the demand driven by medical device companies needing to source high volume, tight tolerance, and intricately-shaped components from an ISO 13485 certified, FDA registered facility. Combining a medical-grade quality system and advanced technical expertise with a customer-centric business philosophy, C5 Medical Werks is recognised as a leading supplier of ceramic components to the global medical device industry.

With a strong commitment to rapid response, C5 Medical Werks is a major supplier of medical ceramic components for orthopaedic, spinal, dental, electro-implantable, brachytherapy and other medical device manufacturers.

'There's a critical need, in the medical market, for component suppliers to elevate their quality procedures and certifications to the same high standard as the major medical companies,' said Andrew Nield, director of sales and marketing for C5 Medical Werks. 'In response to this, I am pleased to announce that we are the first major US medical ceramic supplier to provide ceramic injection moulded (CIM) components from an ISO 13485 facility.'
