The Scienceware Spinbar Capsule Magnetic Stirring Bar available from Bel-Art is designed to eliminate the destructive forces shakers and loose stirring bars can have on delicate gels by gently mixing destaining solutions. |

The stirrer consists of a magnetic stirring bar that spins freely inside a small flat capsule and prevents the stirring bar from contacting the gel.
The large footprint of the capsule allows it to be positioned in the bottom of vertical electrophoresis units and stir buffers without ‘wandering’. The stirrer is ideal for pH adjustments of small volumes because the capsule prevents the magnetic stirring bar from impacting and damaging expensive pH probes.
Dissolving chemicals with this encapsulated stirring bar may be less troublesome as the stirring bar is protected from powders that may obstruct stirring action. The protective capsule is moulded from polystyrene and houses a Spinbar Magnetic Stirring Bar which is moulded from inert PTFE. The stirrer can be easily disassembled for complete cleaning.
