Carestream sign up new digital mammography contracts worldwide

Carestream Health : 12 March, 2008  (Company News)
Carestream Health has signed contracts for its digital mammography solutions with mammography providers worldwide.
The company’s digital mammography portfolio includes: special functionality for its RIS/PACS platforms; multi-modality breast imaging workstations, CR-based mammography systems, CAD for CR and film-based mammography, and laser imagers.

The following healthcare providers are among those that have placed new orders:

* The Avon Comprehensive Breast Care Center at San Francisco General Hospital (San Francisco, California, USA) ordered three Kodak Carestream Mammography Workstations and three review workstations.

* Cancer Society (Helsinki, Finland) purchased a Kodak Directview CR CLASSIC System and a Kodak Directview CR 850 System with the Kodak Directview CR Mammography Feature. It also purchased one mammography workstation.

* Clinique Saint-Luc (Bouge, Belgium) ordered four CR 850 systems with the CR Mammography Feature, four mammography workstations and a Kodak Dryview 8900 Laser Imager.

* Hovedstaden Hospital (Copenhagen and Herlev, Denmark) ordered Kodak Carestream RIS with the mammography screening module. These two hospitals are conducting mammography screening for the entire region.

* Medicity (Helsinki, Finland), a group of private clinics, ordered the CR Mammography Feature for its two CR 850 systems.

Carestream Health markets mammography-specific modules that supply specialised patient scheduling and communications, as well as reporting capabilities, for its Radiology information system and image viewing tools and annotation capabilities for its picture archiving and communications system.

The company also offers digital capture of mammography exams on its Kodak Directview CR systems in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia and other regions of the world where approved for use. Carestream Health has applied to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval to market this system in the USA.

Carestream Health also markets a new Kodak Digital Mammography CAD System that provides computer-aided detection (CAD) analysis for these CR-based mammography exams. The company’s mammography CAD system for CR images is currently available outside the USA.
