Connected ECG system on show at Medica 2013

Welch Allyn is showcasing a new connected electrocardiograph (ECG), integrated light-emitting diode (LED) lamp technology and a disposable single-patient-use blood pressure cuff this week at Medica 2013. The Welch Allyn CP 150 ECG, on display at the company’s interactive booth, offers flexible report formatting, intuitive design and functionality in addition to administering patient tests and managing information via a touch-screen, color display. The company is also featuring its most popular otoscope and ophthalmoscope instruments, diagnostic sets and wall systems with integrated Welch Allyn SureColor LED lamps. Additionally, Welch Allyn is highlighting its FlexiPort EcoCuff – a single-patient-use blood pressure cuff that helps hospitals control cross-contamination, costs and environmental impact.

According to Hisham Hout, senior vice president, Europe, Middle East, North Africa and the Indian Sub-continent at Welch Allyn, the solutions Welch Allyn is featuring this week at Medica are a direct result of the growing demand for connected and configurable solutions that anticipate and respond to unique healthcare provider needs around the world. The products offer easy-to-use features and options that provide clinicians with access to information and the technology they need to help them provide the best possible patient care.

“The solutions we are featuring at Medica this week allow providers to quickly and efficiently conduct physical assessments as well as collect and record patients’ vital signs, which is important in fast-paced clinical settings,” said Hout. “Our vision is to help transform care, where ever patients and healthcare professionals connect, with measurable improvement in value so that all can thrive. The technology we are showcasing this week will help reduce risk, improve patient outcomes and improve staff productivity, giving clinicians more time to focus on their most important task—providing better care for their patients so they can thrive.”
