Desktop CR system contributes to chiropractic training at University of Glamorgan

Agfa HealthCare UK : 07 May, 2008  (Application Story)
The chiropractic division of the University of Glamorgan, staff, students and patients are already experiencing the benefits of the installation of a desktop computed radiography (CR) system only five months after Agfa HealthCare’s CR30-X machine was switched on.
As a compact solution, the system is ideally suited for the smaller X-ray facilities such as satellite units, orthopaedic facilities and chiropractors.

Kristin Grace, senior lecturer radiology at the University of Glamorgan explained, “We are very satisfied with the image quality of the CR30-X. It is very user friendly and its efficient throughput has enabled us to significantly decrease the time it takes to provide reports. This is not only beneficial for our patients, who will receive their results quicker, but will also facilitate the training of our students, who now instantly see the result of their work.’

Dorian Cook, channel manager at Agfa HealthCare worked together on the project with Mike Jenkins managing director of PLH Medical, national suppliers of radiographic products. Commenting on the sale Dorian Cook said: “The chiropractic division at the University of Glamorgan is the ideal setting for the CR30-X. It offers all the advantages of a digital workflow system, allowing clinicians to benefit from digital image sharing and archiving, but importantly only requires the space of a desktop.”
