Equipment as a service benefits presented at conference

Asteral : 23 January, 2014  (Company News)
Attendees at the recent Healthcare Finance Management Association conference were able to gain insights into the benefits of using the equipment-as-a-service model presented by Asteral
Equipment as a service benefits presented at conference

Asteral, the Equipment-as-a-Service company for the NHS, enjoyed another successful exhibition at the Healthcare Finance Management Association (HFMA) annual conference, which was held at the Hilton London Metropole from 4th – 6th December 2013.

Asteral, for the second year running, took the role of lead sponsor at the HFMA Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, as well as exhibiting at the event – one of the most important in the NHS financial calendar.  Organised by the representative body for finance staff in healthcare, the three-day conference and exhibition was attended by over 700 senior financial decision makers within the NHS, and followed the HFMA President’s theme of ‘Knowing the Business’.

Showcasing the benefits and solutions within its Equipment-as-a-Service portfolio, Asteral demonstrated its ‘knowledge of the business’ with the launch of its multi-vendor managed maintenance service for diagnostic imaging equipment - Asteral Protect+ - which is designed to deliver optimum levels of value, quality and convenience.  Asteral understands the importance of critical medical equipment being available when needed, seven days-a-week, and has tailored Asteral Protect+ to meet hospitals’ specific requirements, meaning they will only ever pay for the cover they require.  Furthermore, the Asteral Protect+ price promise ensures hospitals never pay more than equivalent OEM costs on non-contract spend.  Additionally, Asteral Protect+ offers hospitals maintenance services seven days-a-week with on-site engineer options for near-immediate response times.

Christopher Langley, Asteral’s Chief Executive, who presented prizes at the HFMA Gala Dinner said: “It is well publicised that NHS Finance Directors are experiencing more restraints on their budgets than ever before.  Asteral understands the pressures faced by the NHS and is constantly looking at ways it can develop solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of the Health Service today; most recently with the introduction of a service that can cover the maintenance needs of Radiology departments seven days a week.

The HFMA event gives Asteral an unparalleled opportunity to converse with many of those working with restricted budgets and suggest ways to make vital savings on the procurement, management and maintenance of their critical medical equipment.”
