Euromed signs partnership deal with Philips for SpeechMagic platform in the UK and Ireland

Euromed Networks : 21 April, 2008  (New Product)
Euromed Networks is to partner with Philips Speech Recognition Systems for the integration and distribution of the company’s SpeechMagic platform in the UK and Ireland.
Euromed Networks’ digital dictation and image management software MedSpeech will now feature Philips industrial grade Speech recognition for accurate, convenient and efficient information capturing.

MedSpeech powered by SpeechMagic has been designed to seamlessly integrate with healthcare IT applications, such as hospital or Radiology information system (HIS/RIS) or picture archiving and communications systems (PACS). Highly scalable and network-based, the solution supports large volumes of dictations and a high number of simultaneous users.

MedSpeech was first marketed in Sweden, where it has established itself as the preferred digital dictation system with more than 20,000 users at 100 hospitals and primary care centres.

“Together with our partners, we are focusing on achieving higher Patient safety standards and faster documentation workflows. We are happy to see such an experienced partner joining our global distribution network of more than 200 healthcare IT providers,” said Gary Williams, regional sales director UK for Philips Speech recognition Systems.

A first installation of the system is currently taking place at HCA International, the largest private healthcare provider in the Central London area. HCA is rolling out Euromed Networks’ MedSpeech powered by Speech Magic to radiologists at eleven sites across the English capital.

HCA’s radiologists will use digital dictation and Speech recognition to generate reports for around 180,000 examinations per year. Deploying MedSpeech powered by Speech Magic will help them work more productively and provide their services at higher speed. A roll-out outside radiology is already planned for the near future.
