Fischer Connectors has joined forces with Solid Works to make 3D CAD models of its connectors available for download through the 3D ContentCentral portal. |
|
The new service ensures design engineers have easy access to Fischer’s 2D and 3D CAD models, enabling them to put Fischer Connectors at the core of new product designs.
A leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-performance connectors, Fischer Connectors is making more than 400 of its CAD models available to the 500,000 registered users on the 3D content central site. Design engineers working in markets such as equipment, instrumentation and broadcast rely on Fischer Connectors precise manufacturing and reliability for critical applications, and will now be able to better visualise connectors in their design projects.
Fischer Connectors’ managing director Peter Orrell commented: “With over 90 percent of designers and engineers now using the Internet to source components for new designs, there has never been a more important time to have a strong online presence in this area. We felt ‘3D ContentCentral’ represented the most efficient way to provide our customers with a CAD download service that would really help them.“
“Fischer Connectors’ reputation for innovation is a natural fit for this type of service and it enables us to reach the design engineers at the very start of the design process. We have high hopes that the facility will create some very exciting new projects”.
The ‘3D ContentCentral’ website is a customer managed solution, enabling Fischer Connectors to upload new versions of its products at will and ensuring designers have access to the most up-to-date material at all times. 3D ContentCentral is an online service for locating, configuring, and downloading free CAD models of supplier parts, components, and assemblies.
By joining the 3D ContentCentral community, designers and engineers can find, configure, and download supplier certified 3D models of common supplier parts and off-the-shelf components for incorporation in product designs.
