Fujifilm clinches three-year Premier contract for medical film and imagers

Premier Purchasing Partners has awarded Fujifilm Medical Systems USA a new, three-year, dual-source contract by for an assortment of medical film and imagers, including conventional wet film, mammography film, dry film, and the complete line of laser imagers.
Effective September 1, 2008, the award combines two contract categories previously held by Fujifilm into one category. Premier has merged the conventional, or wet imaging products contract with the dry, or laser imaging products, enabling their 2,000 US hospitals and 53,000-plus other member sites to more readily benefit from the quality Fujifilm products at cost effective terms.

Fujifilm’s full line of DryPix imagers for both centralized and decentralised environments are included on the contract, as well as the spectrum of medical imaging films including double emulsion, dry laser, dry thermal, mammography and others.

“As long as the need exists, we remain committed to delivering the medical imaging market with a leading line of high quality products for hard copy image interpretation,” said Phil Buffington, Fujifilm’s executive director, national accounts. “Fujifilm’s continued success within the market affirms our ability to deliver film and imaging solutions that help increase efficiency along with diagnostic quality for today’s modern radiology departments,” affirmed Buffington.

This new award is in addition to the computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) contracts already in place between Fujifilm and Premier.
