Government award for network access control product

ForeScout Technologies : 27 May, 2014  (Company News)
ForeScout's CounterACT gains gold in the network security category of the US Government's 2014 Govies awards
Government award for network access control product

In recognition of outstanding achievements in addressing security challenges in government agencies, gold status has been awarded to the CounterACT network security platform from ForeScout Technologies in the 2014 Govies Government Security Awards in the Network Security category.

The automated system provides more efficient control to network access and provides government agencies with the ability to enforce essential security controls. In addition to this, CounterACT provides a means of addressing the kind of advanced network security standards being faced by many public sector agencies. These include port authentication and IAVA compliance and are addressed by features such as protecting the network against rogue and unauthorised devices, endpoint compliance violation mitigation and continuous monitoring.

Commenting on the award, ForeScout's federal CTO, Wallace Sann said, “We are honoured to be awarded gold in the 2014 Govies for our continued efforts in securing government agencies. As cybersecurity threats increase in the federal space, agencies must take preemptive measures by automating their security controls to continuously monitor and mitigate security exposures and risks.”

Announced at the GovSec Conference & Expo on 13 May in Washington, the winners were selected by a panel of information security professionals using the following criteria: features, innovation, user friendliness, interoperability, quality, design, market opportunity, impact in the security industry, technical advances and scalability.
