German company places order for image guided hyperthermia system from BSD Medical for the treatment of cancer
Image guided hyperthermia system for Germany

BSD Medical, a provider of medical systems that utilize heat therapy to treat cancer, has received a purchase order from Dr Sennewald Medizintechnik for a BSD-2000/3D/MR Image Guided Hyperthermia System (BSD-2000/3D/MR) that will be installed at the Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, location Daniel den Hoed. The BSD-2000/3D/MR system integrates a BSD-2000/3D Hyperthermia System with Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging to deliver targeted image guided hyperthermia therapy, while simultaneously providing non-invasive imaging of the diseased tissue as well as the surrounding healthy tissue. The magnetic resonance images are colour graded to show temperature changes in the treatment area during hyperthermia therapy.

The Erasmus MC system will be the sixth BSD-2000 System with integrated MR capability purchased by prestigious educational institutions in Europe. The BSD-2000/3D/MR systems have also been installed at the Munich Grosshadern UMS, Berlin Charite UMS, Erlangen UMS, Tuebingen UMS, and Duesseldorf UMS, all in Germany.
