Lexi-Comp adds diagnosis and disease management tool to its resources

Lexi-Comp : 19 May, 2008  (New Product)
Lexi-Comp is to offer Harrison's Practice, a point-of-care diagnostic and patient management tool addressing common diseases and conditions.
Harrison's Practice, developed by McGraw-Hill Professional, a leading global provider of information resources for the scientific and medical communities, was created by the editors of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine. The tool delivers essential information on the diagnosis and management of diseases and disorders. Practitioners can access this information within Lexi-Comp ONLINE, Lexi-Comp's web-based solution.

'We are very pleased to now offer this critical information from the most comprehensive and reliable source in internal medicine,' said Steven Kerscher, president and chief operating officer, Lexi-Comp. 'Incorporating this content into our already robust online solution provides our clients with drug, disease, lab, diagnostic, and patient education, combined in one trusted resource.'

Lexi-Comp employs the expertise of an internal clinical team to collect, assimilate, and publish information in a concise, consistent, actionable format. Delivering these combined resources in an easy-to-use application helps clinicians locate answers quickly. Users can search the Harrison's Practice database by topic or by symptom for diagnostic information, treatment guidelines, and ongoing care considerations. Seamless linking allows direct access to relevant drug information, related laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures.

'Harrison's Practice provides the answers busy medical professionals need from a source they can trust with the speed and mobility that meets the urgency of real-world clinical practice,' said Scott Grillo, vice president and publisher, Medical Content, McGraw-Hill Professional. 'We are proud to join forces with Lexi-Comp to deliver the authoritative content and solutions that clinicians require at the point-of-care.'

The Harrison's Practice database is also available for PDA and is included in Lexi-COMPLETE, Lexi-Comp's premier PDA software package.
