McKesson acquires Supporta Payroll Services to enhance its integrated HR and payroll system

McKesson has acquired Supporta Payroll Services and the new business unit will become McKesson HR and Payroll Solutions.
Supporta Payroll Services, an operating division of Supporta Services, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Supporta McKesson HR and Payroll Solutions will build upon the synergies of an already shared customer base using the McKesson ESR (Electronic Staff Record) system; the UK's largest integrated HR and Payroll system.

Charmaine McDonald, UK managing director, McKesson, commented, 'This acquisition will enable McKesson to unlock the potential of the ESR system by providing a bureau service for all NHS trusts'.

'This, in turn, will allow us to deliver tangible service and efficiency improvements to our customers'.

Established in 2004, Supporta is an AIM listed outsourcing company, specialising in the provision and management of care and professional services to public sector authorities and the private sector in the UK.

Supporta employs almost 3000 people over 27 locations around the UK.
The newly acquired division will further strengthen McKesson's already robust team of HR and Payroll professionals by an additional 40 percent who will work across NHS organizations providing integral healthcare systems and HR and Payroll service management.

In acquiring Supporta Payroll Services, McKesson has confirmed that all staff will be retained under TUPE legislation and all will remain in existing locations.

McKesson HR and Payroll Solutions is also looking to scale the business by focusing on customer service and investing in training and new automated tools to build on staff experience and boost productivity.

Charmaine McDonald concluded, 'McKesson HR and Payroll Solutions will combine people, skills, solutions and knowledge to continue to deliver excellence at every level throughout the healthcare industry'.
