Misys provides health information support for Connecticut community health scheme

Misys Healthcare Systems : 11 June, 2007  (New Product)
Eastern Connecticut Physician Hospital Organization (ECPHO) is planning to use Misys Tiger and Misys EMR as part of the PHO's commitment to providing an improved quality of healthcare services.
Misys Healthcare Systems is helping ECPHO achieve its goal of connecting area physicians and hospitals and ultimately creating an interoperable community health information system.

ECPHO will provide Misys with access to its more than 80 medical practices, representing more than 350 physicians in the Eastern Connecticut region.

Approximately 15 percent of ECPHO members have installed or are installing Misys solutions.

Goals of practices that implement Misys solutions include streamlined communications, improved productivity, enhanced revenue and increased operational efficiencies.

Misys solutions help provide doctors with access to more up-to-date and accurate patient information on an integrated platform, and allow them to work with other physicians in their community while interfacing with local hospitals.

'We have seen a growing trend in healthcare reporting and want our member practices to be well positioned to meet requirements for reporting and interoperability,' said Bob Langley, executive director of Eastern Connecticut PHO.

'We chose Misys as an endorsed EMR vendor because its proven products will provide our physicians with tools that are easy to implement and use, and will help position them for the future'.

Through the endorsement of Misys, ECPHO is encouraging the adoption of electronic health record systems to all member physicians and practices throughout the region.

These physicians see the need for a connected community, and understand the benefits that interoperability provides to their patients and practices.

'PHOs, such as Eastern Connecticut, endorse Misys Healthcare Systems because of our track-record of providing innovative turnkey solutions and a reliable support structure'.

'This combination is essential to smaller practices who typically have no in-house IT staff', said Kelley Schudy, vice president of Field Sales for Misys Healthcare Systems.

'We look forward to developing our relationship with more practices within ECPHO and increasing the connections between members in order to improve patient care.

Misys Tiger is an integrated Practice management solution designed for physician practices and was designed to streamline front and back office workflow.

Misys EMR provides medical practices with powerful tools to expand access to patients' care information that is generated from outside their practices - thus improving the usability and value of the electronic medical record.
