Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System selects Amicas Vision SeriesPACS for image management

Amicas : 15 June, 2007  (New Product)
Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System of Morristown, Tennessee, USA, has chosen Amicas Vision Series PACS as its image management platform and Vision Reach as its solution for providing unrivalled service to referring physicians.
'Our focus on imaging IT is vital both to our strategy of improving the quality of the radiology services we provide to our community and to bolstering the overall image of our hospital,' said Emily Blomenberg, director of imaging at Morristown-Hamblen. 'We are investing in cutting-edge technology in order to optimise our radiology operations. In addition, we want to use this investment as an opportunity to reach out to the referring physician community and establish a position of leadership in providing one-of-a-kind imaging services to our community.'

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System is a 167-bed, regionally integrated healthcare system serving the eight-county Lakeway area of east Tennessee. Employing 900 full- and part-time associates, Morristown-Hamblen has a vision of healthcare that is focused on the areas of the heart, cancer, emergency-trauma-critical care, and women's and children's health. Tracing its roots back to 1895, Morristown-Hamblen is distinguished in its surrounding community because of its focus on advanced technology, cancer care, imaging, surgical services, and women's health.

' Amicas is completely tuned in to our unique goals and needs,' said Blomenberg. 'Simply put, we did not know that there was a PACS offering that would help us grow by proactively sharing images and results with our referring physician community - and in such a straightforward manner. Amicas' Vision Reach solution will allow us to do just that.

' Amicas' web-based Vision Series PACS delivers superb functionality to radiologists, radiology staff, IT support staff, and referring physicians. Vision Reach, a one-of-a-kind solution focused specifically on providing unprecedented service to referring physicians, supplies proactive delivery of images and results almost immediately upon study completion.

'We are really excited about our partnership with Morristown-Hamblen, a hospital that is focused on truly distinguishing itself in its community,' said Peter McClennen, president and COO of Amicas. ' Amicas PACS and Vision Reach are going to allow Morristown-Hamblen to take their commitment to patients and physicians to the next level.'
