NDS Surgical Imaging purchases Dome Imaging Systems to strengthen its PACS capabilities

NDS Surgical Imaging of San Jose, California, USA has acquired Dome Imaging Systems, the medical business unit of Planar Systems.
Dome manufactures innovative medical display products for diagnostic imaging and patient care applications. Dome’s customers include global Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) OEM suppliers and leading medical Information Technology (IT) resellers to healthcare providers.

The combined entity now has the unique capability to connect the realms of PACS imaging and surgical video/informatics, delivering valuable innovation to the radiology reading room and the operating room alike,” explained John Murphy, president and chief executive officer of NDSsi. “Our combined capabilities will enhance our OEM customers’ and the practitioners’ clinical confidence in the development and use of new medical visualization applications.”
