Netsmart continues to win Califorian behavioural healthcare software contracts

Netsmart Technologies : 01 October, 2007  (New Product)
Netsmart Technologies has signed a contract with Butte County, California for the company to supply behavioural healthcare software and services.
Butte County will utilise Netsmart’s Avatar Clinical Workstation (CWS) as core software to facilitate assessment, progress notes, treatment planning and reporting for consumers receiving services from the Butte County Network of Care for Behavioral Health. The Network of Care provides a wide range of mental health, addiction and substance abuse treatment and other services to 12,000 Butte County residents annually.

The county will also use Netsmart’s Avatar Cal-Practice Management (PM) for client and practitioner management, billing and scheduling. Cal-PM is a version of Netsmart’s enterprise Practice management software designed to address unique State of California data collection and reporting requirements, including MHSA, CSI and CalOMS. In addition, Butte County will implement Avatar Managed Services Organization (MSO) for authorisations and service request management, claims management, adjudications and case management.

Besides the base system, customisation and installation, the contract with Netsmart includes training, maintenance and support.

“We are impressed by the comprehensive range of capabilities provided by Netsmart’s software,” said Duane Henderson, program manager, Behavioral Health Information System Services for Butte County. “We look forward to working with Netsmart as we further enhance our quality of care and the efficiency of the processes used to deliver that care.”

The addition of Butte County as a Netsmart customer expands to 35 the number of California counties that utilise Netsmart behavioural health or public health software, including the nine county California Regional Mental Health System Coalition Joint Powers Authority (JPA).

“We appreciate the opportunity to serve Butte County and nearly three dozen other California counties that have chosen us as their technology partner,” said James Gargiulo, Netsmart executive vice president, Clients and Solutions. “We take this level of trust very seriously and are dedicated to helping each of these counties and our other customers be successful in their clinical and operational initiatives.”
