New endoscope drying and storage cabinet offers cost saving benefits

Lancer UK : 22 May, 2007  (New Product)
Lancer's new FD8E endoscope drying and storage cabinet has been designed to improve efficiency and provide a quick payback.
Health professionals in Endoscopy units can often worry about the integrity of their stored decontaminated scopes and the quality of their systems.

Because of customer feedback and to meet latest best practice guidelines in Endoscope decontamination, Lancer has improved its successful FD8 drying and storage cabinet to provide some new features and benefits for users.

The new FD8E has a printer as well as PC connection to monitor the system and collect process data.

Tracking and traceability is enhanced with a bar-code reader logging each Endoscope in and out of storage complete with operator ID and time monitoring.
Moving the UVC light out of the cabinet and into the air supply has improved the performance of the aseptic storage up to seven days, enabling up to eight scopes to be always available for immediate use in a typical hospital or clinic.

This has major benefits in the efficient throughput of patient lists as well as cost savings in disinfectants and energy by not having to repeat the Decontamination process on scopes not used within three to four hours.

Pleasing many APs will be the latest independent Process Verification Recorder giving process validation and verification in accordance with the essential requirements of HTM2030 and HTM01.
