New work request routing software improves maintenance operations

MicroMain : 30 June, 2008  (New Product)
MicroMain HelpDesk, new work request routing software used with MicroMain’s maintenance management program has been released by facilities management specialist, MicroMain.
'Instead of handling maintenance requests on the fly, MicroMain HelpDesk allows organizations to centralise submissions and ensure proper handling,' said Joe Brummer, executive vice president with MicroMain. 'With this new software, our users can screen work requests and determine the appropriate action, including responding to emergencies, routing specialised requests to the right personnel, and prioritising requests and work orders.'

With MicroMain HelpDesk, staff receive requests through email, telephone, walk-in, or electronic submission with MicroMain Web Request. By receiving all work requests in one place and reviewing for complete information, help desk staff can be sure all needed information is collected before creating a work order or dispatching a technician.

Requesters using MicroMain Web Request enter their work request and all required information electronically; this data automatically populates the appropriate fields in HelpDesk, further increasing the efficiency in routing the work request and providing the needed service promptly. With HelpDesk, all requesters can receive work order status reports related to their requests.

'Users like this new software because they save time and increase productivity, such as easily consolidating the same requests into one work order,' Brummer said. 'People submitting work requests like having status reports and receiving prompt action, both of which increase requester satisfaction.

'Our current customers appreciate having another easy-to-use tool to improve their maintenance operations,' he added. 'Many organizations chose MicroMain because they want maintenance management, facility management, and capital planning software that provides what they need to manage their facilities - simply.'
