Otto Bock showcases wheelchair solutions to improve independence

Otto Bock Healthcare : 20 April, 2010  (New Product)
Mobility specialists Otto Bock is showcasing its innovative range of wheelchairs at Naidex 2010 from 20-22 April in Birmingham, UK, with a number of advanced solutions designed to promotean individual’s independence and improved quality of life.
One of the innovations for improving quality of life is the Xeno, a power wheelchair with a standing function and advanced steering system. Gently changing from a sitting position to a full extension of the entire body in 20 seconds, Xeno restores the ability to complete everyday actions like using an ATM or talking to friends. Alternating between standing and sitting positions also has a positive effect on circulation, joint function and digestion.

Otto Bock will also be featuring the compact indoor and outdoor Power Wheelchair B600. The attractively designed B600 easily adapts to personal requirements, whether at work, home or outside, with its adjustable seat width, height and angle. Manoeuvrable and fast, the wheelchair also features sensitive controls and a compact structure for easy storage and transportation.

Otto Bock Healthcare is showcasing the versatile ParaGolfer, a specially constructed multi-terrain power wheelchair that allows a disabled or physically challenged person to stand and play golf.

The wheelchair’s robust yet agile design means players can easily move across various terrains, using the same rules and at eyelevel with other players. Visitors to the stand will be invited to trial the ParaGolfer with a golf game on Nintendo Wii.

Visitors to the Naidex stand will also be able to learn more about Skippi, the brightly coloured electronic wheelchair for children. Fast and easy to move, Skippi enables children to explore and become more actively involved in their surroundings. The design is ideal for young users as the seat depth and width adapts as the child grows, while remaining compact and easy to transport.

Simon Tempest, Mobility Product Manager at Otto Bock Healthcare said, “Our mobility innovations have not only been designed with ease-of-use and practicality in mind, but are also long term solutions for transforming quality of life and simplifying everyday tasks. We look forward to welcoming guests on to our stand and demonstrating the range.”

Other products to be exhibited by Otto Bock at Naidex 2010 include a range of manual wheelchairs, power products and solutions for children.

Otto Bock personnel will be on hand at Naidex 2010, the NEC, Birmingham, UK to demonstrate the range on stand E120.
