Overlake Hospital Medical Center installs Zonare's new z.one ultrasound system

Zonare Medical Systems : 25 June, 2007  (New Product)
Overlake Hospital Medical Center, a leading Washington state healthcare facility in the USA, has installed a z.one ultrasound system from Zonare Medical Systems.
Overlake is among the first healthcare facilities in the Seattle area to offer the z.one system, which is based on revolutionary Zone Sonography technology.

This breakthrough technology allows the system to convert from a full featured, cart-based Ultrasound unit into a premium compact system at the touch of a button.

'We strive to provide our patients with the latest advances in medical imaging technology', said Michael Wade, operations manager for Medical Imaging at Overlake.

'Zonare has developed the world's first Convertible Ultrasound system which is ideal for Ultrasound imaging at a patient's bedside'.

'Unlike previous compact Ultrasound systems, however, the z.one unit doesn't compromise image quality which is critical for diagnostic confidence'.

Zone Sonography technology has allowed Zonare Medical Systems to bring the first Convertible Ultrasound platform to the industry with superb image quality at a substantial price to value ratio.

Clinicians are able to instantly convert the z.one platform from a full featured, cart-based system into a premium compact, Ultrasound system with all the performance of substantially larger and more expensive Ultrasound units, yet, with greater portability and clinical flexibility than conventional compact systems.

Combining a fundamentally new advance in ultrasound, Zone Sonography technology coupled with the z.one platform's radically new physical design provides the maximum flexibility offering significant clinical and workflow solutions for a wide variety of customer challenges.

The z.one platform's Zone Sonography software based architecture ensures that its performance will increase as improvements in processing power become available.

This allows for fast, convenient upgrades in clinical capabilities, keeping clinicians at the forefront of diagnostic capabilities as well as protecting their investment.

With Zonare's latest release, upgrades can now be downloaded via the internet, another industry first.

'It is important that we provide premium quality imaging regardless of the patient's location in the hospital', said Ardie Vosburgh, Ultrasound supervisor for Overlake.

'Now, to be able to easily take a compact unit to the ICU or other difficult to access areas, and still have this high quality imaging capability, makes for better patient care'.

At Overlake, the Medical Imaging staff uses the latest technology to sharpen the focus of diagnostic imaging, providing cost effective, fast, clear and precise medical images.

This technology, combined with the compassion and caring of the medical imaging staff at Overlake, provides a healing environment where medical excellence is standard. Overlake Hospital Medical Imaging is fully accredited. Medical Imaging services include Ultrasound, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Computed Tomography, and Vascular Interventional Imaging.

'Overlake is very well known for its state of the art imaging capabilities and commitment to patient care', said Donald Southard, President and CEO for Zonare.

'The hospital's implementation of the z.one system with Zone Sonography technology is further evidence of this deep commitment'.

'We are honoured to be a partner in helping to provide such outstanding medical care'.
