Queen’s Hospital MES deal offers improved imaging quality benefits
|
Siemens Healthcare UK
: 24 April, 2012 (Application Story) |
|
Queen's Hospital, part of the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, installs an Artis zee biplane system from Siemens Healthcare. |
|
The installation was undertaken as part of the long-term Managed Equipment Service (MES) partnership agreement between the Trust and Siemens Healthcare.
The Artis zee biplane, located in the Radiology Department, replaces an existing interventional imaging system and is significantly improving departmental throughput. It is handling a general interventional workload mainly consisting of Endovascular Aortic Repair (EVAR) and non-vascular intervention, but is also being used as a back-up system for neurological intervention imaging. The department is also benefiting from highly detailed 3D image reconstruction, which is proving user-friendly and is enhancing visualisation.
The Artis zee biplane is capable of handling a wide range of interventional procedures and provides great accuracy during image-guided procedures at a low dose. High quality images are obtained rapidly and displayed in the exam room for instant review.
"Staff have found the Artis zee biplane easy to use and we have been very pleased with the images delivered," said Alita Deterville, Radiology Resource Manager at Queen's Hospital. "The installation process ran smoothly and the multiple display in the examination room provides us with crystal clear images alongside rapid acquisition times."
"We are extremely pleased that the Artis zee biplane system is proving such a valuable addition to Queen's Hospital Romford," commented Clive West, Technical Manager, Managed Services at Siemens Healthcare. "We're confident that the system will enhance departmental workflow further and increase staff diagnostic confidence." |
