RamSoft plans to release new 'all-in-one' RIS/PACS

RamSoft : 04 December, 2007  (New Product)
RamSoft is to release version 4.5 of the new PowerServer RIS/PACS at the end of the first quarter of 2008.
The new offering provides facilities with a comprehensive ‘all-in-one’ RIS/PACS solution running on a single server and database; an ideal solution for teleradiology, hospital and mobile practices.

'Over the past few years, PowerServer has slowly expanded and encompassed more and more information management technologies', said Michal Szabla, vice president, Ramsoft. “This steady evolution of PACS functionality has finally yielded a full radiology RIS/PACS solution in a single web application; running on one server and database.”

The following features are a sample of functionality available in the new PowerServer RIS/PACS:

Single Web-application

Having staff use numerous integrated systems – all with different interfaces – to perform day-to-day tasks can be confusing and negatively impact efficiency. Additionally, deploying and keeping these clients licensed and up to date can cause IT nightmares. RamSoft’s unified PowerReader smart client eliminates these headaches.

Single Database

All data is always in one place and up-to-date. This means that users never have to worry about data synchronization, HL7 RIS interfaces or RIS/PACS brokers.

Single Workflow

No need to worry about integrating different RIS, PACS, and reporting packages into a radiology workflow. Everything a typical radiology or teleradiology operation needs is built right into PowerServer.

Unified Resource and Access Management

Managing users, groups, facilities and related resources across several integrated systems is tedious - and may sometimes seem like an impossible task. Not anymore. PowerServer’s unified resource and access management allows administrators to stay on top of things from one simple screen.

Referring Portal

The Referring Physician Portal allows easy orders placement and report viewing. Using the latest in Web 2.0 technology, this cutting edge application provides unseen levels of interactivity while maintaining the ease of use expected from RamSoft.

Registration

PowerServer makes patient registration simple. All demographic information is displayed on a single screen for quick verification. On top of that, insurance cards, prescriptions, and other documents may be scanned right into the study with a couple of simple clicks.

Scheduling

The main goals when developing PowerServer scheduling was to provide an unforgettable end-user experience without sacrificing usability or functionality. An ‘Outlook style’ calendar has been specially designed to meet the demands of a radiology environment.

Below is a rough overview of what makes RamSoft customers smile from ear to ear:

-Context sensitive views which adjust to the appointment types.

-Resizing appointments when browsing them in the day view.

-Fully customisable views and resources.

-Dragging appointments between dates.

-Moving appointments between resources.

Procedure (CPT) and Diagnosis (ICD9) Coding

The new PowerServer fully supports both procedure and diagnosis. These codes are associated with scheduled appointments to simplify code management.

DICOM Modality Worklist

Once a patient is flagged as arrived, the DICOM modality worklist makes sure that the patient is queued up and everything is prepared for examination. Each individual modality can have its own worklist assuring that it will be ready and waiting for the next patient. The DICOM modality worklist eliminates the need for another piece of hardware to communicate between modalities and the RIS/PACS.

Electronic Forms

Electronic form technology makes it easy for staff to get rid of those pesky paper forms; saving substantial time, paperwork, and printing costs. Forms can be filled traditionally using a keyboard and mouse or via PC tablet.

Easy Exporting for Billing

PowerServer RIS/PACS can post charges, demographics, and insurance information to most popular billing software
