Riskwatch releases new healthcare security assessment software

Riskwatch : 22 January, 2008  (New Product)
RiskWatch for Healthcare Security, the most comprehensive assessment tool available for physical security assessments at hospitals and healthcare facilities, has been introduced by RiskWatch.
The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the USA. An independent, not-for- profit organization, The Joint Commission is the nation's predominant standards-setting and accredition body in healthcare and recently released standards related to the security of hospitals and healthcare organizations.

RiskWatch developed the Healthcare software in conjunction with input from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and GE Security.

RiskWatch for Healthcare Security includes a simple web-based questionnaire application that can be used to survey wide groups of administrative staff, security officers and clinical staff electronically and compile their answer instantly. The software contains a comprehensive checklist based on the Joint Commission standards and helps organizations self-assess their security and be able to measure compliance directly.

The new software program covers every major area of security assessment including development of a written Security Management Plan, conducting the annual Risk Assessment, evaluating the threat environment, controlling access, and mitigating violence in the emergency department, as well as covering a proactive infant abduction prevention plan.
