Safapac invests in new purpose designed manufacturing and packing facility

Safapac : 04 June, 2007  (New Product)
The chemicals formulating, blending and packing contractor, Safapac, has relocated to new purpose designed premises near Peterborough, UK.
The new facility represents an investment of over 2 million in the latest state-of-the-art equipment to enable the company the meet the stringent manufacturing and packing standards of the medical supplies, agrochemicals, industrial chemicals and animal health markets.

Safapac has already been awarded a GMP Medicines Licence and ISO accreditation, further reinforcing the high quality standards of the operation.

The factory layout has been specifically created to segregate activities, allowing the company to handle a wide variety of chemicals simultaneously with no risk of cross contamination.

The factory features a manufacturing and packing facility designed for flammable, veterinary and noxious chemicals, which is equipped with dust and vapour abatement technology to protect both employees and the environment.

To meet increasing demand for sachet presentations for a wide variety of chemicals, specialist sachet filling booths have been created to provide enclosed work centres, some of which also feature special dehumidifiers that allow the handling of water-soluble films.

'This latest investment enables our business to respond to the fast changing nature of the markets the company serves, and satisfy the quality, safety and environmental standards expected of a strategic outsourcing partner,' comments Martin Steele, Safapac's managing director.

'Product formulations and packing requirements are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and at the same time stricter regulations are being put in place to govern the handling of these materials'.

'This places added pressure on businesses to continually meet these new demands'.

'Safapac is able to serve companies of any size where a high degree of technical competence is required along with safety and environmental awareness.'
