Sidec’s introduces protein tomography to improve the analysis of therapeutic antibodies

Sidec : 06 June, 2008  (New Product)
A new version of protein tomography technology has been introduced by Sidec to improve the analysis of therapeutic antibodies and drug targets in biological systems.
Protein tomography uses regularisation theory to create a 3D image from a series of 2D electron Microscope images. The enhanced protein tomography method is developed in order to improve the investigation of the structure and interactions of macromolecules in solution and in cell tissue samples. It does so by speeding up the visualisation and analysis steps allowing for rapid identification of binding epitopes and drug-target interactions at the molecular level.

'This new technology will improve both the productivity and the applicability of Protein Tomography when used to determine epitopes and will complement existing methods for a better IP strategy and product positioning in the biopharmaceutical industry' said Anders Aberg, chief scientific officer at Sidec.
