Two new hearing instruments available

Siemens Hearing Instruments : 26 November, 2013  (New Product)
The BestSound Technology range of hearing equipment has been increased with custom in-the-ear and behind-the-ear variants available
Two new hearing instruments available

Siemens Hearing Instruments has announced the addition of two new hearing instrument lines to its BestSound Technology product portfolio. Orion and Sirion are suitable for people with all levels of hearing loss with both custom In-The-Ear (ITE) and Behind-The-Ear (BTE) designs available for enhanced wearer comfort and personalisation.

The line of Orion hearing instruments has variants for users with hearing loss ranging from mild through to severe. The BTE version is available in two adaptations: a Receiver- In-Canal (RIC) model; or a classic BTE. These offer the option of wireless connectivity allowing instrument settings to be changed using convenient remote controls. A tinnitus therapy feature, in Orion, also enables the user to focus on external sounds by emitting a noise signal that reduces strain on the ears.

Orion and Sirion are reliable solutions that provide a high level of comfort due to their lightweight design. As with Orion, Sirion includes an advanced feedback cancellation system which prevents feedback so users are not left with an uncomfortable whistling from the instrument. The BTE designs have a robust and sturdy exterior which have been tested to IP67 standards to ensure full resistance to moisture, sweat, dust and dirt. The ITE version is custom made to accommodate the shape of the individual user’s ear canal.

Orion and Sirion both cater for various degrees of hearing loss and come in options for different levels of discretion. LifeTube and LifeTip provide BTE designs with transparent and inconspicuous tubing which comfortably places the hearing instrument. The other choice of using an earhook and earmould gives users a robust option which provides an extremely secure fit that supports more power and amplification. ITE designs also come in various discretion levels including Completely-In-Canal, In-The-Canal and In-The-Ear.

“Orion and Sirion are welcome additions, within the ‘Essential’ segment, to the existing micon portfolio,” states Mark Laben, Marketing and Product Manager at Siemens Hearing Instruments. “The instruments are ideal for active people who require a robust instrument that is built to last and will fit around hobbies and lifestyle interests. Enhanced technology means they are able to quickly acclimatise to different listening situations and automatically adapt to the user’s hearing needs, so life can carry on as normal.”
