UroPartners deploys new enterprise practice management from Misys

Misys Healthcare Systems : 17 May, 2007  (New Product)
Misys Healthcare Systems has installed and deployed a new enterprise practice management system for the US 'super group' urology practice - UroPartners.
The new Misys Vision system will serve as a unifying core to link the 11 geographically separate group practices and 38 urologists that form UroPartners.

As a complement to the Practice management system, UroPartners also added a variety of Payerpath and Misys Fast Services to optimise their revenue cycle and claims management capabilities.

The total project enables UroPartners to centralise critical healthcare business operations - such as patient scheduling, billing and accounts receivable, administrative reporting, and other tasks - while delivering improved productivity and efficiencies for the group and its individual practitioners.

'Adopting a full featured healthcare technology solution is the only way to make a large group practice like UroPartners function well on a day to day basis', said Carol Nordgren, chief operating officer for UroPartners.

'We turned to Misys because they offered the features and functions we needed, along with the tangible customer experience of having successfully completed projects of similar scale and scope'.

'The technical service and support provided by the Misys team also made our transition relatively easy and seamless'.

The new Misys solutions operate as part of a UroPartners WAN (wide area network) that enables group members in all locations to tap into service capabilities as network based clients.

Based on the performance improvements and success of the Practice management deployment, UroPartners is now evaluating a centralised Misys EMR solution as the next logical step.

Nordgren concluded, 'We believe moving our 'super group' practice toward a paperless clinical environment would deliver even more advantages and operational improvements for both patients and practitioners'.
