Vernacare prepares to unveil new macerator that eradicates five major pathogens

Vernacare : 16 July, 2008  (New Product)
September’s Infection Prevention Society Conference will mark the official launch of Vernacare’s new Vortex macerator, and its powerful Tuffie 5 wipes - which eradicate the major five major groups of pathogens, including Cdiff, MRSA and E Coli.
The pioneering Vortex has an anti bacterial deodoriser which cleans inside the macerator at the end of the cycle and assists in improving the sluice room environment. The macerator also combines a new hands-free lid opening mechanism, which is another crucial innovation in infection prevention.

The UK engineered system, which is designed to work with sister company Vernacare’s single-use pulp products, will process four items of pulp in just two minutes using a cold water cycle to disintegrate the used pulp and wash the tiny, biodegradable fragments down the drain with the wastewater.

The Tuffie 5 disinfecting and cleaning wipes have passed EU cosmetic legislation as safe to use on skin without gloves, yet is clinically proven to destroy spores such as C Diff; bacteria, including EColi and MRSA; mycobacteria like Mycobacterium Terrae; yeasts and fungi including Candida, together with viruses such as Hepatitus C and HIV/Aids.
