Design consultancy Cambridge Design Partnership has developed RauSafe, an award winning needle safety device to protect healthcare workers from needlestick injuries. Both the USA Needlestick Act (2000) and the EU Needle Safety Directive (2010) came into force to help prevent sharps injuries in hospitals but many existing prefilled glass syringes on the market did not meet these needle safety regulations. The RauSafe can be retro-fitted to existing syringes to avoid the necessity for the long and expensive process of revalidation.
Design consultancy meets international standard for medical device quality

Following a six-month accreditation review, Cambridge Design Partnership has been awarded ISO13485 and ISO9001 certification for quality management. These qualifications include strict healthcare regulations helping to ensure product safety and efficacy within the medical sector. The company was able to go through the accreditation process rapidly to achieve certification in just six months.
